As the chief freelance artist for Airfix, manufacturer of the popular line of plastic model kits, Roy Cross produced more than 200 original paintings. He also worked in advertising, producing paintings for manufacturers to promote and celebrate their aircraft. His wealth of work is always accurate to the smallest detail, including the number of crew aboard, armament and squadron markings. Cross has also contributed commentary to accompany these vibrant works. Celebration of Flight showcases some of his best work, and includes many of the excellent technical drawings from his days as a model illustrator. The large format allows a beautiful display for the many full-page works.
