After

Author(s): Elizabeth Cunnane

New Zealand Non-fiction

"It's all through her body, oozing into her veins, already in her bones and now seeping out into her organs. The heaviness. The weight. It presses. With a persistence she's been fighting for a long time now. Every minute seems longer than its sixty seconds because of this pressure. By another name, this would be called grief. She knows that. Loss. Part of the 'process'." After presents fifteen stories that explore the period of change following loss. They are informed by a suicide in the author's family, but also a universal story of love and loss. The stories walk the journey of grief, but also of creativity, hope, desire and adventure. This is an exceptional debut of writing from a talented young artist.
