Product Information

Born in Winton, Southland, Janice's first solo exhibition (Auckland, 1974) sold out in a week. Since then she has developed a unusual niche for herself as a documentary painter, telling graphic stories of old - and contemporary New Zealand. Janice's work is represented in public and private collections. It often focuses on people on the margins of society. She has been a Labour Party activist for three decades and now lives and paints in Nelson.
